Ser Winter Interview
1. Tell us a little bit about you. What's your social media of choice?
My name is Ser Winter, and I started YouTube back in 2016. I picked up a game called Rust shortly after and saw my channel boom through the stories I created and the strange people I encountered.
2. What is your content vertical?
I started creating videos many years before I started the Ser Winter channel, and what prompted me was that I always wanted to be a storyteller and use my imagination to entertain others, and YouTube was the perfect medium to do that.
3. What are your top tips for those who want to start their social media career?
If I were to offer any tips on starting a YouTube career, that would be to research the market, adapt other styles and ideas you like, and turn them into your own. In the saturated YouTube market, you need to stand out while doing things that trend (unless of course, you're the trend starter). Quality is also a must. You can build an audience with the bare minimum, to begin with, but you need to be improving as you go to keep up.
4. What was your favorite campaign or brand to work with to date?
So over the years, I've been a part of many sponsorship campaigns, but with Hype Factory, I've had the best experience. I've secured a long-term raid shadow legends partnership and a mech arena one. These two have been the best for me by far. These two have been my favorite brands to work with.
5. What's the brand you'd love to work with?
Brands that I'd love to work with are steel series, rode mics, NZXT and Elgato, as I use their products daily and swear by them.
6. What challenges have you faced with content creation and how have you resolved them?
Content creation is not without its challenges. I thrived for years and eventually faced a bit of a downturn, which is common for any YouTuber to experience. It may take time to overcome this, having to navigate a lot of mental gymnastics and to figure out what you need to change to adapt to the ever-changing scape of YouTube, but if you can do this, you'll be golden.
7. How's your experience working with HypeFactory?
Overall, my experience working with Hype Factory has been phenomenal. The staff are great, courteous, prompt, and responsive on their respective time zones, which are all very important to me.
8. Who do you look up to in content creation world?
Now, as to who I admire in the content creation sphere, there's a few people. General Sam, Zanny, Spoonkid and probably Willjum, just to name four. The comedy from General Sam and Zanny, the swift rise of Spoonkid from his sheer amount of research into how to become a YouTuber and applying it to himself to become a success story, and Willjum for his work ethic and ability to know what works and how to set current trends.
