AeonAir Interview
1. Tell us a little bit about you. What's your social media of choice?
My name is Jonas, going by AeonAir online, or just Aeon if you wish! I'm 23 years old, from Norway. For content creation, I do YouTube and Twitch primarily, with my main secondary social media being my Discord community.
2. What is your content vertical?
I primarily play Geometry Dash, however I also focus in some other games, or ideas with Geometry Dash as an additive to spice things up every now and then. Such as "Geometry Dash References in Real Life". It's a never-ending game, built upon the community creations, meaning there is always new content to make. My main thing is sharing my passion for these creations, and the game as a whole, giving people are more experienced, and in depth understanding of the levels people have made, and the games mechanics.
3. What prompted you to start creating video content?
I started making YouTube videos simply because I have always enjoyed expressing myself, and my interests, and with a strong passion for the game I play, it was an easy thing to pick up, and develop. I loved watching YouTubers growing up, that were super passionate and knowledgeable about the topic they were discussing, and I wanted to be that person for the Geometry Dash community.
4. What are your top tips for those who want to start their social media career?
Passion. Uncontested passion for the niche you want to pursue is the most important thing. I have a very rigid and strict upload schedule, and the only reason I can manage it, is because of my love for the content and niche that I have made myself. If you do not have the drive to create content about a passion without any form of compensation, you won't make it. A persons passion should be their leading drive for creating a great product.
5. What campaigns have you been a part of?
I have primarily done 2 recurring campaigns, which are Mech Arena, whom I love working with, as well as Raid: Shadow Legends, whom are also wonderful business partners!
6. What was your favorite campaign or brand to work with to date?
I absolutely adore working with Mech Arena! Their thorough guides, and pointers to make a good campaign is incredibly admirable, and they are super quick to respond to any potential questions I would have. They also allow for very flexible creative freedom to adapt my own style and humor into the campaign, which is always wonderful as well, in creating a genuine campaign.
7. What's the brand you'd love to work with?
Products that I have always looked at, that I would enjoy working with are brands such as Hello Fresh, and Bokksu. Brands that I think offer a unique opportunity to experience new things in your daily life, through food and other cultures.
8. What challenges have you faced with content creation and how have you resolved them?
The biggest challenge any content creator faces I believe is burn out. It's normal for content creators, especially after turning it into a career, to find themselves burning out by producing a bunch of content, simply to sustain themselves. I am no different, and have definitely felt on that myself. To counteract this, I have learned what works for me, in trying to distance myself from that content creator mindset at all times, finding new hobbies, and activities I enjoy, outside of my work. It allows me to relax, and always feel well rested and ready to make more videos for whoever is watching.
9. How's your experience working with HypeFactory?
HypeFactory has been a joy to work with. Every individual I have spoken with from HypeFactory have been super kind, easy to work with, and with incredibly fast response times. They are always willing to put in a good word, and are always available to reach out to a possible business partner, or someone that we are currently doing a campaign with, so that the work process flows nicely.
10. Who do you look up to in the content creation world?
My biggest inspiration for content creation has always been Chuggaaconroy! When I think passion, he is who I immediately think about. His passion for the games he plays is my main source of inspiration to be as passionate as I can about the things I do myself, and it has been a part of my daily routine for the past 10 years now, watching his newest videos, or just rewatching old ones that I love.
